The classic Vespas attracted the most attention at our #OpenDaySC.
With a proud 33 Vespas photographed, the timeless cult scooters were the most popular motif and provided many unforgettable moments in front of the camera.
A big thank you to all the visitors and Vespa fans who made this day so special!
Here are their photos and stories:
Last year, Michael visited us at the Open Day with seven of his best examples. This year, two more highlights have been added: Batman and Halloween.

I bought and restored it in 2017. I was 14 years old at the time and when it was finished, I registered it as a moped and rode it. At some point after engine conversions and modifications, such as Drobbar disc brakes and Pinasco Zuera engine, it needed a visual change.
So I did some research and rummaged through the internet to find out what old racing paintwork was available. And then I came across the 70s Vaillant paint job from Kremer Racing. I then applied this to the scooter. I then changed a few visual things, such as the built-in reinforcement strut, GRP mudguards, carbon fan cover and cylinder cover. And the conversion with the racing star.

PK50by Pascal
Of course, I was fascinated by mopeds when I was 15. Piaggio was always mine!
I bought the blue Pk50 in September 2024 as an absolute project and rebuilt it from scratch. From sandblasting to engine overhaul.
Everything on my own, except the sandblasting, which I unfortunately had to give out of my hands. I'm also glad that my fiancée got through it all. How often did I have to listen to the fact that the apartment smelled of oil, petrol or paint again! I created a small paint booth in the basement and converted the men's room into the engine compartment. 95% of the parts were ordered from Scooter Center and SIP, of course. The rest via classified ads.
In fact, the goal was your SC Openday !
Until my fiancée crashed into my PK 50 with our neighbor's LX S on my first real ride.

And my stepfather bought a fully restored V50N because he was gripped by Vespa fever!

PX200by Elias
The bike is an old PX from 1981. I bought it as a PX 80 with the classic 135 cc conversion last summer. After 2-3 weeks, however, it quickly became clear that this was not a solution and I converted the whole thing to a PX 200 engine. Even with this, the country road is rather boring and so one thing led to another and the whole situation escalated completely.
210cc Malossi Sport with resonance exhaust and corresponding adjustments to the crankshaft, carburettor and rotary valve intake helped the whole thing along. The rest of the technology was then to be overhauled so that the paintwork could be renewed afterwards.
No sooner said than done.. . bgm suspension, Moto Nostra LED headlights, a new wiring harness and also a Vape ignition for direct current were installed, all cables new, handlebars overhauled and all bearings on the suspension parts replaced.
However, as there is nothing faster to get used to than performance, the PX 80 engine was then rebuilt with the Scooter Center conversion kit and a 221cc Malossi old was installed. Unfortunately, the whole thing did not perform and, despite the reed valve intake and 35 carburetor with reso exhaust, only produced just under 26 hp . For this reason, an MHR cylinder is currently finding its way into the reworked PX80 housing in order to achieve 30+ .
The P4 will show the rest. You can see quite clearly that form follows function, it's all about screwing.
But after that, the bodywork will be done again.
Promise...

The story behind:
Shortly after I got my scooter license, my first Vespa was stolen when I was 16. Of course I was incredibly sad, so my brother Min quickly imported this Vespa for me from Italy. He then built the engine that I still ride today. My Vespa only got the brilliant purple color a good 10 years later - a birthday surprise from my husband.
A few years ago, the Aachen scooter guys at the Rusty Hangar "took a look" at my Vespa and pimped it both technically and visually, which I am extremely grateful for! Finding someone to do a proper job on the old treasures today has become more difficult... In any case, I love my Vespa very much and still ride it passionately and fast today ;-)
My main contacts are Michael Zocher, Holger Puzicha and Michael Zinnen :-)
The following engine setup:
133 Polini double direct
24 Dellorto throttle
2.56 Primary
Polini / Revolver Clutch

VNB1994 by Patinakunst
Hey, it's about this VNB from 1994
Unfortunately there's not much to tell about it, it has a Streamline seat, 10 inch rims from a Vespa GS, a subtly tuned engine with parts from you.
Best regards Sebastian

Vjatka by Holger
The Vjatka came to our Schrauberhof from the collection of our friend Mike Klintworth, who unfortunately passed away far too early.
Together with ZokZok from Rusty-Hangar and Tim Flamongo1, it was then restored to its current condition. Zok worked on it for hours while Tim made an adapter to fit a PX engine.
I then took over the fine tuning, completed the engine, made and fitted the seat and tank as well as the FlyScreen.
Now it's there - one of the few Vjatkas that are even registered in Germany (including a registered tuning engine). I've heard there are only a handful at most. It is powered by a PX 200 hull engine with UncleTom long-stroke shaft, 244cc Quattrini cylinder, Pinasco SI26 carburettor, bgm Superstrong clutch with CR80 pads and a sports exhaust from a market competitor
Best regards from the TraumWerkstatt

PX200 by Florian
I came across the Vespa PX 200 in 2021, so I'm still a newcomer to the scene. I then had it completely dismantled, sandblasted, sealed and painted. When it came to reassembly, the video by Nils Homann "How to restore a Vespa" helped me.
I was lucky that the engine had already been overhauled. After a short time, so 2023, I destroyed the rotary valve after a ride, whereupon the madness began.
Of course I wanted more power: 60cc shaft, 210 Malossi Sport, MRP intake, 35cc Mikuni carburettor, CNC clutch from Moto Component, Polini box and many other little things.
Luckily I met Thomas, my trusted engine builder, who put the engine together for me. In the end, the engine achieved just under 25 hp, which is easy to ride in all situations.
A big thank you of course goes to the Scooter-Center for the fast delivery of all the parts, and to Thomas Vespa "Freunde Übach", who built the engine perfectly for me.
Best regards

Vespa 50 L by Diego
"La mia Vespa - A piece of home"
My Vespa 50 L was built in 1967 - a real original. Over 50 years old and full of character, with every screw a piece of history.
6 years ago I brought it from Sicily, my home country, to Germany. She was old, dusty, a little tired of life - but I knew straight away that she would get a second chance.
Since then, I have lovingly nurtured her. The engine has been overhauled and improved, every detail looked after, with respect for its age. Today it runs reliably, like a classic that no longer has to prove anything.
What began as a restoration became something personal.
I fell in love - with this piece of Italian history, with the attitude to life and with the memories it carries. It's not just a scooter. It's a part of me. And she's over 50 years old - and better than ever.

Principessa by Tanja
Here's the story about my Principessa. The unexpected often happens, or how the Principessa came to Brauweiler. Brauweiler Alaaf! - and meanwhile two men, Holger and Jan, are talking about Vespas. One is a real Vespa connoisseur and the other is now on fire. So they have to get a scooter. Not only for him, but also for his wife Tanja. Pink is her color!
Andre from Münster had just such a pink gem for sale, a Vespa 50 N from 1982. The color was very bright in the pictures, but that didn't put Tanja off. Pink is great! And technically everything was tip-top - so she bought it.
Thanks to Holger, Andre even delivered the bike. Saturday evening was the day. Andre opened the door of the van and there she was: no, it wasn't a bright pink bomber, but a beautiful pink princess - Tanja's Principessa.
Best regards

Vespa V50 verde mela in Olack by Prosimo
Classic meets future: our Vespa 50 "Verde Mela" with electric upgrade
Who says you have to choose between retro charm and modern technology? Our Vespa 50 in the original Verde Mela paint finish proves the opposite - lovingly restored and radically modernized at the same time.
The heart of this conversion is the prosimo Kit-100, an innovative electric concept that turns the small Vespa into a real powerhouse. As the name suggests: 100 km/h top speed, and completely emission-free. The best thing is that the prosimo conversion kit has a TÜV certificate, which means it can be registered without any problems. This officially turns the Vespa into a light motorcycle that can be ridden with driving license categories A1, A2 or B196.
Technical highlights:
- 72 V / 48 Ah battery - removable and can be charged directly on the vehicle
- Charging time: only approx. 2.5 hours from 0 to 100 %
- Range: over 100 km with moderate riding, approx. 50 km with a sporty riding style
- Electric motor with 4 kW rated power and an impressive 200 Nm at the rear wheel - comparable to a 20 hp 2-stroke
- Unladen weight: Only +17.2 kg compared to the original - an amazingly slim conversion
Of course, this power also demands control. That's why we have made no compromises when it comes to the chassis:
- bgm chassis - for superior handling
- Crimaz disc brake - for reliable deceleration at any speed
The look remains true to the classic line: the frame has been carefully cleaned, welded, dented, patinated and sealed. All bearings and wearing parts have of course been renewed - technology and appearance at the highest level.
This Vespa is not an off-the-peg conversion, but a statement - for style, innovation and riding pleasure with responsibility.
