BGM FASTER FLOW SI carburetors - optimized series carburetors for performance-enhanced engines

Performance-enhanced engines require a permanent and reliable supply of gasoline.
The BGM PRO Faster Flow carburetors are optimized exactly for these needs.They are based on a brand new SI24/24 E or SI26/26 E Dell'Orto/Spaco carburetor. They are completely disassembled, inspected, reworked, cleaned and re-completed with great care in our factory, allowing them to meet the high demands of even a heavily modified engine.

MODIFICATIONS

  • an enlarged connecting hole from float chamber to nozzle block

  • an additional hole in the area of the float needle

  • spring-loaded float needle

These modifications result in a significantly improved supply of fuel, which means that there is no fuel starvation even with very powerful exhaust systems. Especially when using an air funnel, this measure is eminently important to keep the mixture composition stable over the entire rpm range. The spring loaded float needle has a much longer life and can compensate vibrations very well.The improved fuel supply is of course also advantageous on complete series engines.

FITS FOR
The carburetor is suitable for all engines with SI20/20D or 24/24E carburetor.
These are all Vespa PX80 (V8X), PX125 (VNX), PX150(VLX) and PX200(VSX) models.
Here please pay attention whether the vehicle already has an oil pump (all from 1984, then choose the carburetor with separate lubrication).

They are also suitable for all older engines that have a rotary valve control (crankshaft controls the intake).
These are for example Vespa VNB, VBA, VBB, Super (VBC/VNC), GL (VLA/VGL), GT/GTR (VNL), Sprint (VBL), Rally(VSD/VSE).
It can therefore also be used on the models with originally only 80-150ccm that have only a Ø20mm carburetor from the factory.

TIP: Carburetors for engines with separate lubrication can in principle also be used on engines without oil pump if the tie rod for the gas slide is replaced.
They only have a bore for the externally supplied oil. This hole is closed by the carburetor sump on engines without separate lubrication.

CHANGES
Older vehicles (e.g. VBB, VNB, VLA/VGL, VLB) still have small air filters, here you should change to the filter of the PX models. The carburetor bowl of the models with originally Ø20mm carburetor should be adapted in the transition area to the engine in the cross section of the larger carburetor. This way the full cross section of the carburetor is used.

JETTING
The installed jetting corresponds to the series jetting of the PX200 models.

This is already very suitable for many tunings on 177cc basis, only the main jet should be adjusted.
Engines with 200cc and more need partly already somewhat larger secondary nozzles (eg 58/160).
The tuning is done in principle from too big (too rich) to lean.
The initial nozzle sizes should therefore be selected so that the engine stutters (overgreased). This gives you a safe starting point for tuning.
This is best done with our nozzle sets.

NOTE
Modified (drilled) air filters or intake funnels always require richer nozzles due to the better working air correction. The intake funnels (also called venturi) may need a main air correction nozzle that is smaller and thus has a greasing effect (e.g. 140 instead of 160).
Tips on the operation of the individual carburetor components can be found in the individual parts (secondary nozzle, air nozzle, slide).
All new SI carburetors are manufactured under license by Spaco in India. These carburetors were and are already used for a long time in the series production of Piaggio. They are qualitatively on the same level as the original Dell'Orto carburetors. They also go through Dell'Orto's quality assurance and are therefore partially packaged in Dell'Orto boxes.

CONCLUSION
Very inconspicuous tuning carburetor that already has all the useful modifications on board and also engines with well over 20HP safely and permanently supplied with gasoline!
